Abstract: This brief discussion covers the sections of the United States Pharmacopeia that relate to weighing accuracy and shows how to calculate the minimum weighable quantity for any balance for which the absolute accuracy or sensitivity limit or requirement is unknown. Tables provide information regarding weighing parameters of torsion and toploading electronic balances, weighing specifications for torsion and two representative toploading electronic balances, minimum weighable quantity in relation to sensitivity or accuracy and maximum percentage weighing error.
