Abstract:  Enteral feeding has increased in recent years along with the various methods and equipment utilized. Oftentimes, it is necessary to administer medications via enteral tubes, and care must be observed to maintain the proper flow through the tubes. This is done by proper maintenance to prevent clogging and even removing clogs if they occur. Proper choice of a vehicle to administer a drug is critical for the patient to receive the benefit of drug therapy and to properly maintain the usefulness of the enteral feeding.
