Abstract:  Staff who prepare sterile preparations should be aware of the positions of the major accrediting organization concerning compounding. The author describes the positions of the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, Inc.; the Community Health Accreditation Program and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
