Abstract: Infants, young children and the elderly who cannot swallow tablets are good candidates for the divided, loose-powder dosage forms, which can be mixed with a formula or sprinkled in applesauce. In this article, the author discusses traditional methods of divided powder-dosage forms, papers, powder paper size and powder boxes. A comparison of the traditional folded powder paper and self-contained powder paper methods is included. Directions and diagrams are provided to aid visualization of the final, folded product.
