Abstract:  The reader is shown how to perform calculations for two problems. The first involves prescriptions for capsules containing estriol and estradiol and shows how to calculate the quantity of each ingredient needed to prepare this prescription, the dilution to weigh out the estradiol on a Class A torsion balance and the weight of each capsule. The second involves OsCal tablets and shows how to calculate the quantity of calcium that a patient is receiving daily and the number of Citracal tablets she would need to take to receive the same milliequivalent dose of calcium.
