Abstract:  The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) Chapter <1206>, which is titled “Sterile Preparations – Pharmacy Practices,” contains general information about the compounding of sterile preparations in a pharmacy facility. In this article, the development of Chapter <1206> and a brief description of the contents of its proposed revision are presented.
