Abstract:  The author discusses primary and secondary lactose intolerance, physiology, diagnosis, treatment, a case report and appropriate fillers. He concludes that lactose intolerance may affect one in every five people worldwide. Solutions may range from the simplistic to the pharmaceutically challenging. A compounding pharmacist is in an excellent position to not only solve the patient’s lactose intolerance problem but also provide enhanced therapy by choosing fillers that may provide additional benefit.
