Abstract: The reader is shown how to perform calculations for three problems. The first involves a formula for Lecithin/Isopropyl Palmitate Syrup to use in preparing Pluronic lecithin organogel and shows how to calculate the quantity of each ingredient needed to prepare one pound. The second shows how to calculate the amount of each ingredient needed to prepare 1 gallon of Pluronic Gel 20% to make Pluronic lecithin organogel. The third involves a formula for an anti-inflammatory drug in Pluronic lecithin organogel, which is used to treat arthritis, and shows how to calculate the quantity of alcohol needed to dissolve the drug, the volume of gel needed to deliver a dose of 50 mg, the strength of the drug in percent weight in volume and the specific gravity of the gel using an aluminum pycnometer.
