Abstract: The toxicity of dental amalgams continues to be a contentious issue, but chelation remains a viable treatment option in this type of toxic exposure. The author discusses chelating agents, mercury – a demonstrable toxin and experimental support (of the use of demercaptoprpopanesulfonic acid and dimerrcaptosuccinic acid as chelating agents).
