Abstract: The author discusses poison ivy, poison sumac and poison oak, probably the most common allergenic plans in the United States, and his efforts compounding a poison ivy extract injection to desensitize allergic patients. He provides the formulation, method of preparation and storage instructions. He also reports that, during the past summer, 10 patients at risk for poison ivy were administered the injections; none experienced a reaction to poison ivy. Next season immunization preparation services will be offered to allergy physicians and utility and landscaping companies.
