Abstract: The author provides a brief overview of phonophoresis and iontophoresis. He believes that the growing popularity of electronically controlled drug delivery requires increasing involvement by compounding pharmacists. For the most efficient drug therapy, pharmacists should constantly continue their education in the new devices, auxiliary materials and formulations used in these types of therapies.
