Abstract:  Many pharmacists have expanded their compounding businesses to include fee-for-service consulting. The authors focus on the establishment of consultations as a service and elements of a successful consulting practice (environment, areas of expertise, approaching consultations with confidence, establishing a patient population, conducting consultations and interpreting outcomes).
