Abstract: Nanotechnology is the science of creating machines that manipulate matter in the way it was created, one atom at a time. This article describes this field and its history and provides examples of the way nanotechnology may be used in the future. The author concludes that it is important to read the literature and become involved in national organizations to help identify new opportunities for the profession of pharmacy.
