Abstract: The reader is shown how to perform calculations for solving three problems. The first involves a patient who has been taking Armour Thyroid who needs to be switched to an intravenous injection; the reader is shown how to determine the equivalent amount of injection. The second involves a patient who has been using Estraderm for estrogen replacement but who needs to be switched to oral estradiol due to sensitivity to the adhesive n the patch. The reader is shown how to convert this patient to Estrace oral tablets. The third involves calculating the amount of Protropin injection that should be administered to a patient of a specified weight and shows the reader how to calculate the quantity of growth hormone the patient will be receiving.
