Abstract: The reader is shown how to perform calculations for three problems. The first concerns an ointment containing triamcinolone acetonide and shows how to calculate the quantity of the injection on hand that will be needed to prepare the ointment. The second concerns a formula for a wart-remover solution and shows how to calculate the quantity of salicylic acid and lactic acid that would be needed to prepare the solution. The third involves a formula for an irrigation solution and shows how to calculate the quantity of potassium permanganate that would be needed to fill this prescription and the concentration of the dispensed solution in milligrams/milliliter.
