Abstract: The author recounts how she and two other pharmacists formed a partnership in a town with a population of 2,500 and provide customized compounding throughout Nebraska. The vision for this practice was to provide a full-service professional pharmacy that offers retail prescriptions; durable medical supplies; blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol screenings and specialized customized compounding. The practice now, 5 years later, compounds 50 prescriptions a day and has established three new pharmacies, two in surrounding towns and one closed-door, long-term care pharmacy in the same town as the original practice. The author shares some successful marketing practices with the reader.
