Abstract: Compounding pharmacists must be familiar with and participate in the appropriate standards set forth in each chapter of the United States Pharmacopeia. Pharmacists should also be aware of any revisions to these standards. This article discusses the revisions to United States Pharmacopeia Chapter <1163> Quality Assurance in Pharmaceutical Compounding, a chapter which has been compared with other chapters, discusses some of those other chapters, and discusses the components of a reasonable quality-assurance program.
