Abstract: Specialty Medicine Compounding Pharmacy participates in the pharmacy student preceptor programs of Ohio Northern University and the University of Michigan. The pharmacy has developed a rotation program with two main emphases: developing a core set of compounding skills and learning new administrative skills. While compounding should be the main focus of any clinical pharmacy rotation program, preceptors are in a unique position to teach students skills that they may never have the opportunity to learn elsewhere. This article explains how to develop a rotation program that gives the student a well-rounded learning experience that encompasses the art of compounding and more.
