Abstract: In this general discussion of andropause, the authors cover treatment methods for safely and effectively normalizing the level of testosterone, supplementing with “prohormones” and dosage forms for replacing testosterone (intramuscular injections; sublingual troches or lozenges; topical creams, gels or lotions and implantable testosterone pellets). Information regarding serum and saliva levels of testosterone and estradiol is also provided.
