Abstract: Stu Sommerville, RPh, provides compounded dental medicines, which account for 5% of his compounding business at Ballard Plaza Pharmacy in Seattle, WA. In this article, he discusses dental preparations that have been successful in his practice. Sample formulations are provided for Benzocaine 2% Sorbitol Antigag Candy, Fluoride 0.25-mg Sugar-Free Hard Candy, and Tetracycline 5% Dexamethasone 0.2% Periodontal Gel.
