Abstract:  Risk, which can come from various sources, is the exposure to loss or injury. Included, but not limited to common risks associated by business owners, are natural disasters, accidents, legal liabilities, weather-related events, and criminal activities. Specific to pharmacy is professional liability risk, including physical harm to a patient. This article provides an understanding of some of the risks faced by business owners and pharmacists, transferal of risk to another entity such as an insurance company, and an understanding of the insurance policy itself.
