Abstract:  This article continues the discussion of an article published in the July- August 2011 issue of the International Journal of Pharmaceutical Compounding concerning the role of compounding pharmacists during natural tragedies. Compounding pharmacies must be prepared to handle the medicinal needs of their patients as well as the needs of other victims of disasters. This article basically provides a wake-up call to pharmacy professionals that as an integral member of emergency healthcare providers, preparedness is vital.
