Abstract

In this general discussion of andropause, the authors cover treatment methods for safely and effectively normalizing the level of testosterone, supplementing with “prohormones” and dosage forms for replacing testosterone (intramuscular injections; sublingual troches or lozenges; topical creams, gels or lotions and implantable testosterone pellets). Information regarding serum and saliva levels of testosterone and estradiol is also provided.
