Abstract

Capsule and tablet lubricants are included in formulations to assist in the mechanical handling of powders before and during the encapsulation process. The author discusses the official capsule and tablet lubricants, including calcium stearate, glyceryl palmitostearate, glyceryl behenate, magnesium stearate, light mineral oil, polyethylene glycol, stearic acid, purified stearic acid, talc, vegetable oil and zinc stearate.
