Abstract: The calculations are provided to show the reader how to figure three problems. The first involves a formula for Halobetasol and Calcipotriene Cream, and the reader is shown how to figure the quantity of the formula that could be used daily without exceeding the maximum dose. The second involves a formula for Metronidazole 1% Topical Spray; the author shows the reader how to calculate the quantity of the concentrated acid that would be needed to prepare 30 mL of a 10% w/v solution to be used to prepare the formula, how to calculate the final percent strength (w/v) of hydrochloric acid in the formula and how to calculate the molar strength of hydrochloric acid in the formula. The third problem shows the reader how to calculate the osmolarity of a solution.
