Abstract:  The author, who has been a pharmacist for over 50 years, explores the question of how a pharmacist should be trained. He contrasts his training with the training of today and concludes with the suggestion that not all pharmacists should be compounders but that perhaps the time is approaching when compounding will become a recognized pharmacy specialty.
