Abstract:  This article addresses the three most important hormones in menopause: estradiol, progesterone and testosterone. The discussion focuses on serum, saliva and urinary tests. The author concludes that, when included as part of a comprehensive women’s health program, hormone assessment allows healthcare professionals to recognize the unique hormone portrait of each woman and to assist her in making informed choices to enhance her quality of life and decrease her risk of various diseases.
