Abstract: This case report recounts treatment of a year-old, 750-lb Plersheron draft horse that developed osteomyelitis in a leg broken when the animal was a colt. Treatment involved chloramphenicol in an apple-flavored, oral vet paste. The patient loved his medication, was up to over 900 lbs after 8 weeks of treatment and received a clean bill of health.
