Abstract:  The author, a trainer with the San Francisco Giants for 13 years and a veteran of 21 years in major-league baseball, discusses topics of interest to compounding pharmacists regarding sports medicine. He sees a tremendous need in sport medicine for compounding but thinks that “weekend warriors” are a major untapped revenue source. He discusses types of athletes, the seasons, types of sports, niches for compounders, high school vs. college vs. professional sports, benefits of working with compounders and considerations.
