Abstract: The purpose of this article is to increase awareness of some of the quality control issues related to compounding with commercial products. A compounding pharmacist must be aware of those commercial dosage forms that are inappropriate for use in certain compounding situations and of the many implications of using commercial dosage forms in compounding.
