Abstract

The author discusses the following chemicals, considered noncaloric, which may be used to sweeten food and drink: acesulfame potassium, Aspartame USP/NF, Saccharin USP/NF, Saccharin Sodium USP, Sorbitol USP/NF, Stevia rebaudiana and Sucralose USP/NF.
