Abstract:  The compatibility and stability of 80 mmol/L potassium chloride and 16 mmol/L magnesium sulfate in 0.9% sodium chloride injection and in 5% dextrose injection solutions at 22°C have been studied by means of a Beckman Clinical Chemistry Analyzer Synchron CX5 Delta. The infusions were stable for 24 hours at 22°C. The results from both diluents showed an average of ± 5% fluctuations in concentration. None of the samples appeared to form visible precipitation or to change in color or clarity.
