Abstract

The authors prepare a 200-microgram fentanyl troche in a 24-troche tray; it is free of preservatives and dyes that irritate the mucosal lining of sensitive patients. They compare their preparation economically with the commercially available product, which contains preservatives and dyes, and give information as to ingredients and their costs, disposable costs, clean room fee, preparation level and total price.
