Abstract: Psoriasis is a common skin disorder affecting around 2% of the US population. This article provides an overview of its causes, pathogenesis and therapeutic options. The authors end their discussion by suggesting that compounding pharmacists have more comprehensive tools to treat such diseases than those available to the average ambulatory pharmacist and that disseminating knowledge about the use of agents in the compounding armamentarium promotes the quality of life of the psoriatic patient.
