Quality-Control Analytical Methods: Determination of Tapped Bulk Volume for Compounded Prescriptions
Download in electronic PDF format for $75
Abstract: Compounding solid dosage forms often requires knowledge of the bulkiness of the powder being used. This is especially true when compounding hard gelatin capsules. Choosing the right capsule size for a given prescription is an important first step in the filling operation. Capsule size can be determined from the “Rule of Sixes,” the “Rule of Seven,” or knowledge of the bulk volume/bulk density of the powder.
