Abstract: This article profiles Angie Meeker, PharmD, and her compounding-only pharmacy. Meeker attributes much of her success to formulating a good business plan, which impressed her bank’s loan officers and was so detailed that she was able to open her business in only 4 months. She compounds a great deal of hormone replacement therapy in addition to topicals, intrathecals, veterinary preparations and preparations for pain management, injectable vitamins and inhalation therapies. She has a dedicated room for consultations with patients; most consults are on hormone replacement therapy and pain management, and they are billed at $85 for 30 to 60 minutes. Most of her prescribers are family practice physicians. Goals for the future include expanding into a health solutions center with a variety of practitioners.
