Abstract:  The author, affiliated with the American College of Veterinary Pharmacists and also an owner of a practice devoted exclusively to veterinary care, discusses the positive impact that veterinary compounding can have on the profits of an independent pharmacy. He talks about his personal experiences in this area and provides tables showing a summary of patient care services, income and expenses for 1 year (traditional pharmacy practice with a small number of veterinary compounds), and income and expenses for 1 year (traditional/veterinary independent pharmacy practice).
