Abstract:  The owner of Harvest Drug & Gift in Wichita Falls, TX, provides tips and effective techniques for managing and promoting a successful compounding pharmacy. Success in business is based on customer service, and recognizing the value of employees in establishing a rapport with customers is important. The author provides practical suggestions for establishing and building such a rapport, along with advice on ways to increase sales. She concludes that being successful is not that difficult, but one must remember to enjoy one’s job, love one’s staff and think of different ways to increase sales. In addition, it is necessary to be able to change, adjust, give back to the community and smile.
