Abstract: Dry mouth, or xerostomia, is a common disease state characterized primarily by decreased salivary secretions. The authors discuss causes and treatment, which usually involves use of pilocarpine, a cholinergic agonist that increases bodily secretions. They also provide a formulation for Pilocarpine Solution.
